A defining moment came during a redfish tournament in Georgia, where her unconventional fishing approach (using one of her permitted two lines for catching bait fish) resulted in catching a Florida Pompano that tied a 40-year-old state record for a female angler. This accomplishment further solidified her commitment to sharing her expertise with others.

Her achievement was recorded in the Georgia Outdoor News, and the Coastal Georgia Department of Natural Resources website.
